No sooner had I shared the pros and cons of spending hard-earned shoe money on ’sensible’ shoes with you all that an invitation landed in my lap from mi amiga Kaz’s boyfriend Jaume, asking me to spend the afternoon with him and some old travelling pals on his small yacht in Port Masnou.
Say no more.
It was all the encouragement I needed to send me straight back to Mango the next day to nab myself a pair of those cute blue sneakers!!

They were the perfect choice of footwear for the day, and I am now looking forward to slipping them on again this weekend when I attend a margarita party on my Scottish mate’s boat.
I can see them getting so much nautical weekend wear this summer that I now realise what the problem was in the first place: I was just lacking a suitably good reason to buy them! So glad that’s solved…
